If like me, the city life can make you feel dreary and dry,if you too like to take breaks to explore the world, spoiling yourself, and in the process look for those little pleasures that make life special, then I believe you too will love the little jewel I found on a recent trip to Israel.
 
I found myself looking down from the Golan Heights onto the Sea of Galilee where Christ walked on water. Here is where I found my Mediterranean Jewel. Interspersed between the orchards of succulent sweet dates, large juicy watermelons, rosy apple trees, banana groves and mangoes, are the most amazing ancient olive groves.With their sturdy rugged branches, the olive groves dot the hills and farm lands all the way up the majestic Golan Heights. And here – in the midst of the olives, I found a small family enterprise, producing the most amazing soaps and cosmetics.
 
After looking around the quaint shop front, and sampling some creams, enjoying the different scents and aromas of the soaps, I purchased a solitary soap. Oh what a find!!!!! Having tried out the soap, I was totally enthralled. Leaving my skin soft and refreshed, with the most luxurious feel, I enquired as to how they made such a wonderful gem. That’s when I learnt about the love and passion and patience and secret ancient recipe that they use to create each individual bar of soap. Not only the traditional techniques, but also the home grown olives contribute to this amazing work of art that they produce.
 
I was so excited with my find, that I had to stock up on all the different varieties that were available for sale. (Pure Harvest, Volcanic Ash, Terra Santa, Myrtl, Mint, Olivipixia...) Jasmine, lavender, Dead Sea Mud, avocado. And I was not disappointed. That’s when my family and close friends that were with me in the Holy Land got to try them out and started raiding my stock, that I had to go and replenish my supply. I then knew – that this Gem was surely one in a million – and definitely worth sharing with my friends back home.
 
So now I have decided to share my special Gem with you. As I believe that like me, there are many people like you who will appreciate the quality and the pleasure of indulging oneself in the finer little luxuries of life.
